Even if you are not staying at one of the most highly decorated Disney Resorts at Christmas, if you stay at any of the properties, this gives you access to take the Disney Transportation around to any of the other Resorts to view the magnificent displays and arrangements of Christmas. This is one thing that many guests do not realize and it would be a huge dis-service to your family if you did not take them to all of the Resorts during the Holiday Season to see the spectacle that Disney does so well at showcasing.

Do all of the Disney Properties have Christmas Displays?

The short answer is Yes, but honestly, some of the resorts do not do very much where others go all out and you wonder how many months did it take for them to even prepare. Disney might be an expensive place to visit but where else can you go to see the wonders of Christmas in a more extravagant fashion than Disney World. They really spare no expense when it comes to presentation and this is true during the Holiday Season as well.

As you might expect, the more deluxe resorts have the best decorations while the Moderate are not bad either. Take some time to look at them all to decide which one is a good fit for your budget. Remember, if you are staying on the Disney Property, you can still visit all of the Resorts in Disney World.

If you are looking for an upscale Christmas surrounded by pure elegance, I would have to say that the most impressive Resorts to visit during Christmas would have to be the Grand Floridian. During the day is impressive enough but if you get a chance to visit after dark, you will have to opportunity to also share in the many lighted animals and features shown on the outside of the resort as well. When you enter the Grand Hall, you will see many different styles of Christmas Trees but the one that over powers them all is the massive tree set right in the middle of the hall. This tree is so large that you have to climb all the way to the 4th floor before you can look down at the top of this incredible tree. It is worth going to a higher level to get some great pictures of the entire space filled with many different Christmas decorations. Other than the trees, you can’t miss the most impressive Holiday Structure in the Hall, the full size, Gingerbread House. Kids might stand in front of it with their mouths wide open in delight but you will also see Parents looking on in sheer amazement of the size of this structure. You might wonder if the house is edible or not. While you might not want to eat directly from the house, it is made purely from edible ingredients. Can you imagine how long it must take to make a house like this each year? Anyway, you might not be able to eat directly from the house they do have a refreshment stand where they serve gingerbread and other treats.

If a more rustic, down-home, cozy setting with immediate charm and warmth is more of your Christmas style, you might rather go to the Wilderness Lodge. While you will not find a massive Gingerbread House at this resort, you will find one of the largest Christmas Trees in the area right in the center of the comfortable entrance of the resort. This tree is so big that there are cables connected near the top to 4 anchor points just to keep it steady. If you want to see the top of this tree, just start climbing up to the 6th floor and overlook the incredible size of this Tree. The ornaments are designed to be more in line with an African themed Resort and might not be as flashy as some that you will find elsewhere. Beautiful, large Garland is strung along all of the railings of the balconies and gives an impressive, Christmas look and feel to this main area of the resort.

Spend some time walking along an old favorite the Boardwalk Inn where you will be transported to a time where you would enjoy the sights and sounds while you walk around enjoying the entertainers around you. At Christmas, you are in for an additional treat where the main building interior is decked out with Garland, Large Christmas Trees and even a Ginger-bread House for Stitch and his friends to play. The Gingerbread house might not be as magnificent or as large as the one at the Grand Floridian, but is very nice and the kids will enjoy seeing it.

Across the Lake from the Boardwalk Inn, you can stay at the Beach Club. Sure, you are going to see the great decorations with giant wreaths and garland but something you will see at this resort that is not found at any of the others is the fully functional Ginger Bread Chocolate Carousel. Well, it isn’t completely functional. Even though it is large enough for a child to ride, since it is made out of edible materials, it would probably not be a good idea. That does not mean that the kids will not dream of being able to ride on this amazing Christmas treat.

Beside the Disney Beach Club and across from the Boardwalk Inn, additional Holiday delights await at the Yacht Club. This resort is always “Ship Shape” and they have something unique for your family during the Christmas season as well. Kids and adults alike will look on in awe at the miniature train set on display as you enter the main hall of the building. As the train circles the town covered with snow, you will get an opportunity to look at all of the intricate designs of the town and its many layers. Kids get so excited that they want to play with the train-set but this is a hands off display and is for viewing only. As you walk around the Entrance you will also notice many Christmas Trees all decorated in a more Nautical fashion to keep in the theme of the Yacht Club Resort style.

Worth touring them all

As you can tell by the descriptions of each of these Disney Resorts, each property stands out in its own special way. If you have the time, it is well worth taking a few hours to hop between the different resorts and get some great pictures of the different Holiday Themes at each of these properties. As you go to each location, try to find some of the additional Hidden Mickeys that you will only see during this time of the year. There are also refreshments at each of the more elaborate resorts so take the time to get some sweets and hot cocoa with your kids and take in everything Disney has to offer during this season.

Disney Moderate Resorts at Christmas

Nothing can compare to the Deluxe Resorts at Christmas but you will still find a wonderful Christmas Decoration presence at the Disney Moderate Resorts. While you will not find any of the large displays of Gingerbread structures, you will find that there are many Christmas Trees with different types of decorations, garland and additional displays for the season at each of these resorts.

Disney Value Resorts at Christmas

Disney does not do a lot at their Value Resorts during the Christmas season other than put up a Tree in the main Hall of each of the properties. You may find some additional decorations around these resorts but they are no anything like the resorts mentioned above.
