Going camping is fun but having all of the recreation and fun things to do, like playing at the two Pools at the Disney Wilderness Campground offers an adventure that will not soon be forgotten. The Meadows Pool is where the families will hang out. A large pool with a 67-foot Corkscrew Water Slide will keep the kids entertained for a while. A shallow kids splash park is located at the Meadows and has small kids slide perfect for them. Quieter, and tucked away from all of the main fun things to do, the Wilderness Swimming Pool is a great place to get away from all of the action. Pictures and more information on all of the water fun is at the Disney Fort Wilderness Campground Pool.

Fort Wilderness Resort Cabins

Tucked away in the beauty of pine and cypress tree forest is a unique, more rustic location at Disney World that might surprise you a little. Staying at the Disney Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground is positively an encounter like no other at Disney, and even if you are not one to adventure as deep in to camping as pitching a tent or riding in with your RV, the Cabins at Disney Fort Wilderness Resort could be more than you ever envisioned. Nowhere else in Disney World will you find accommodations with this much space in such a natural environment. This is the family adventure you have been waiting for. During your stay, you will have access to over 750 acres of prime, wooded Orlando property with room to have the time of your life.

What are the Cabins at Fort Wilderness like?

Cabins at the Disney Fort Wilderness are stand-alone dwellings. There is space set between them all and plenty of room to fit a family of six (6). Parking is private to each Cabin, and there is room to park a couple of vehicles without any problem. These log-style cottages offer all of the amenities you would expect on your Disney Vacation but give the appearance that you are roughing it for your trip. Cabins at the Fort Wilderness are the same no matter which one you choose but choosing the location is the biggest difference. When you look at the Resort Map of the Fort Wilderness, you start to understand just how massive this place is. As you walk into your cabin you will find a living room with a full kitchen; a Master Bedroom with a large bed along with a second bedroom with has a large Queen bed and a set of bunk beds.

 PROS

Pros:

What a great Disney World location to stay. We loved getting away from the crowds at the Fort Wilderness Resort and the Cabins have so much space, it is like having your own suite with a kitchen. Our larger family of 5 fit nicely and had no issues with space. The food is really good, be sure to book the Hoop-Dee-Doo revue if you have small kids, they will love it. The water transportation was fun to get back and forth to the Magic Kingdom. Family pool with larger water slide for the older kids and a splash park with a small water slide was the best.

 CONS

Cons:

For the most part the stay was great but the only park you can get to with the Water Taxi is the Magic Kingdom. The buses take a little extra time to get around this huge resort to get you to all of the other parks. We did not realize how big this place is. Next time we will bring bikes. I would recommend getting a golf cart to get around just know that there is an additional fee for getting one. Be sure that you love nature when you stay at the Fort Wilderness because that is what this resort is all about.
