Transformers being broadcast like years old War of the Worlds

I wasn’t around during the radio broadcasts for the Series on the “War of the Worlds” that shook up a lot of people back in 1938 but reading about this fantastic story and thinking about the mayhem it caused is pretty amazing. If you are not familiar with the story, a new Radio Series launched back on Halloween in that year and was narrated by none other than Orson Welles himself. What was so fascinating was the fact that the first episodes came across the air as news bulletins and people listening were hearing that the earth was under alien attack from real live Martians. I know this seems far fetched now and you would think that no one would believe this but back in the 30’s there were really no special effects to hear of and people hung on every word of news that came across the radio because this was such an amazing technological advancement in those days.

What does this have to do with the Transformers?

I find this type of advertising absolutely fascinating. Universal is in the process of creating a new type of alien invasion coming to take over earth by building a real life size dramatic event in the downtown Orlando area. They did something very similar to this when they were promoting the new Transformers 3D ride that was opening in Los Angeles. It must have worked very well because they are doing it again and in hair raising form. If you get a chance to drive by the Fairwinds Credit Union Tower on W Central, you will see an event like nothing you have seen before. It will appear that the building has been structurally damaged and debris will be laying all around with police tape roping off the area because of all the Alien Havoc and Destruction in the area. I love the fact that a man with a sign is yelling in a megaphone that we are going to all perish. This Doomsayer is going to be the talk of the Orlando area for many days to come.

Transformers 3D is coming

Universal is taking a lesson from Disney with the promotion of their newest ride Transformers 3D. They have decided to pull out all of the stops and share the adventure in grand form for the entire world to see. I don’t know about you but this gets me really excited for the newest ride coming to Universal Orlando.
