Harry Potter Fan Favorite – ButterBeer
Considering that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal’s Islands of Adventure in Orlando Florida was really designed for all of the kids who grew up with the Harry Potter phenomenon, I really never considered that anyone might think that this is an alcoholic beverage. For those parents who walk by one of the many “ButterBeer” stands in the park, there is no reason to be concerned about this drink. Your child (and you) might get a sugar rush from drinking one of these drinks but that is all the damage it will do.
What in the world is Butter Beer
If you have never read the Harry Potter book series or you don’t have any kids who have read it, Butter Beer is a drink that is sold as a wizards beverage that has a flavor a little bit like less-sickly butterscotch
. It was sold in Hogsmeade at The Three Broomsticks. The drink that is served at the Universal Theme Park is found in one of two different varieties, a cold liquid or a more frozen slushy. Both of them have a cream soda taste and can be topped off with a creamy substance that I would best describe as a butterscotch marshmallow. I would recommend that you try both when you are there because although they share very similar flavors they are very different going down.
Is it any good?
If you like a cream soda, you should really enjoy this drink but remember, it is flavored a little different. I wonder which version would come out on top if a poll was taken? I liked the more frozen slushy version but it could be that it has been really hot each time I have tried it. You will have to just try it for yourself and see. Let the kids give it a try as well and compare to see which one you like the best.
