Best Orlando Hotels with Wave Pools in 2025

Updated: April 14, 2025

While this is truly a “Best of” list, you’ll quickly notice that only a handful of Orlando hotels feature a wave pool. We’ve visited many of these resorts and were surprised to find just how rare wave pools are. The reason? Wave pools are a big commitment for any hotel. They take up a lot of space, require powerful equipment to generate the waves, and need regular maintenance to keep everything running safely. Add in the high energy use, and it’s easy to see why most hotels stick with options like lazy rivers and splash zones.

That said, the hotels that invest in wave pools go all in — making them true highlights of the resort. If you hope to catch some waves without ever leaving your hotel, these are the properties to watch in 2025.

What Makes a Resort Wave Pool Special in Orlando?

Wave pools bring extra excitement to your resort stay, offering the feel of the beach without the sand. The gentle rise and fall of the water add energy to your day, whether floating in the shallow area, enjoying the lapping waves over your legs, or playing in the deeper waves.

Since wave pools require more space and upkeep than typical hotel pools, they’re a standout feature at resorts that are serious about water fun. If you see a wave pool on the list, you know the hotel has made a real commitment to its water park experience.

Do you have to stay at the hotel to use the wave pool?

Access to wave pools at Orlando hotels varies by property:

  • Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa: Treasure Cove Water Park, including the wave pool, is for guests staying at Westgate Lakes.
  • Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate: The wave pool here is reserved for hotel guests. However, non-guests can purchase day passes through platforms like ResortPass, depending on availability. This is a great option if you’re not staying on-site but still want to enjoy the resort’s full water experience.
  • Margaritaville Resort Orlando: The wave pool is part of Island H2O Water Park, which is next door to the resort. Guests can purchase discounted tickets to enjoy the water park, but it’s not included in the resort stay itself.

It’s always best to check with each resort directly for the latest access details and day pass availability, as policies can change.

Which Orlando wave pool hotel is best for adults in 2025?

I would have to choose the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate as the best option for adults. When we stayed at the Westgate Lakes, it seemed to be a great option for families and there were a lot of kids around the water parks. While you also have families at the Omni, it has a slightly more upscale feel. You will get a sense of this with the private cabanas, tropical landscaping, and an expansive pool area with a wave pool. The Omni is a great relaxing spot for couples or groups looking to enjoy resort-style amenities. Another perk that makes it great for adults is the on-site golf and a luxury spa.

Which Orlando wave pool hotel is best for families in 2025?

For families, Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa is a fantastic choice. Treasure Cove Water Park is available on the resort grounds, typically for an extra fee. However, we have seen specials that include it with your stay. Be sure to check with the resort when booking to determine if they have any available deals going on and what your overall cost will be if using the Treasure Cove Water Park.

We love the water park at Westgate Lakes. Having a family-friendly wave pool, water slides, and a lazy river was well worth the extra money. Plus, the spacious villas have extra space, and some even have a full kitchen.

Which Orlando hotel has the largest wave pool in 2025?

The largest hotel wave pool in Orlando belongs to Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, with a wave pool holding an impressive 131,000 gallons of water and covering an area of 7338 square feet. For a Resort to have a large wave pool and be exclusive to guests staying at the hotel is quite amazing. Sitting by a regular pool is fun, but this wave pool delivers rolling waves in a tropical setting, with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the action.
