Not every Orlando hotel needs to have a giant water park to be a good family choice. We find that the real question is whether it matches what we are looking for when we travel.

The Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando Sunset Walk meets our travel guidelines. It offers suite-style rooms, a central location near dining and entertainment, and a newer feel that we enjoy. But since we are also looking for the best pools and water experiences at Water Park Hotels Orlando, we will look at this property through that lens.

Is this a hotel where the pool is the highlight, or is it more of a comfortable home base for your Orlando trip? Let’s take a closer look before you decide.

Where Sunset Walk Fits Into an Orlando Trip

Before we look at room layouts or breakfast options, most of our visitors are interested in the location. This can decide whether this hotel even makes the shortlist of possibilities.

Sunset Walk is part of the Margaritaville Resort Orlando area in Kissimmee. It is not inside Disney property, but it is close enough that most families feel comfortable with the drive. Depending on traffic and which park you are visiting, you are generally looking at about fifteen to twenty minutes to Walt Disney World.

As much as we love staying at a Disney Resort, we also find that there are many advantages to staying a little bit outside of the Disney bubble. Here are some of the advantages of staying around the Sunset Walk area:

  • Sunset Walk is designed to be walkable. Restaurants, dessert spots, live music, and casual entertainment are all within a short stroll from the hotel. That can make a big difference at the end of a long park day when nobody wants to pile back into the car to grab dinner.
  • It also gives this area a slightly different feel compared to staying along International Drive. Instead of a long stretch of traffic and strip malls, you have a compact entertainment district that feels a little more contained and easier to navigate.

If you are traveling with your family and want options outside the theme parks without committing to a full-on resort experience, that alone is part of the appeal.

Is Embassy Suites Orlando Sunset Walk a Good Choice for Families?

For many families, the answer depends on what kind of trip you are planning. This hotel makes the most sense if you are looking for additional space, simplicity, and a location that sets you outside of the Disney World traffic.

Here is where it works well:

  • A separate bedroom and living area give parents and kids more breathing room
  • Free cooked-to-order breakfast makes mornings easier and more affordable. We love staying at Embassy Suites for the breakfast. They are amazing.
  • Walkable access to some really great restaurants in Sunset Walk.
  • Easy drive to Disney without paying Disney resort pricing

But it may not be the best fit if:

  • You are looking for a large water slide or a lazy river on-site
  • You plan to spend full days at the hotel instead of the parks
  • You prefer staying inside the Disney or Universal property

It is worth noting that the H2O Water Park is right next door to the Embassy Suites at Sunset Walk. Also, there is a really nice kids’ splash zone with sprinklers and fountains beside the pool at this Embassy Suites.

What About the Pool and Water Features?

The pool area is what makes this property stand out. The Oasis Beach Club is not just a basic rectangular pool behind the hotel, it includes a large zero-entry main pool, which is great for younger kids and also just easier for everyone to get in and out of.

There is a separate splash zone built specifically for kids. Think sprinklers, interactive play features, water fountains, and dumping buckets. There is even a small water slide designed for younger children. It is not meant for thrill seekers, but it is enough to keep kids busy and happy.

Around the pool, you will find food service, a tiki bar, plenty of seating, and optional cabanas for a little more space for your family. It feels like an area where you could actually spend time, not just cool off for fifteen minutes.

Now here is where it gets interesting.

Every stay includes unlimited access to Island H2O Water Park during its operating season, which runs from March 7, 2026, through October 31, 2026. The hotel lists a savings of $65.99 per person per day. For a family of four, that adds up quickly.

That changes the way you look at this hotel. It is not just a place with a decent pool. It offers both a resort-style pool experience and access to a nearby full water park.

Is This a Better Value Than Staying at a Full Water Park Resort?

Now that we’ve looked at the pool and the included Island H2O water park, the real question becomes value. Some Orlando resorts come with massive on-site water parks featuring lazy rivers, large water slides, and kids’ splash zones, and some even have a wave pool.

So how does Embassy Suites Orlando Sunset Walk compare?

The Embassy Suites might be the right property if:

  • You want a nice resort-style pool area, but do not need the thrill of water slides
  • You like the idea of having access to the H2O water park
  • You want suite-style rooms with extra space
  • You love the fact that you can walk to Sunset Walk to enjoy restaurants and shopping
  • You plan to spend most days at Disney or other parks (like Universal or SeaWorld)

A full water park resort may make more sense if:

  • Your kids want more water park fun without leaving the resort
  • You want everything contained inside one property
  • The hotel itself is one of the main attractions during your trip
  • You prefer resort-style activities throughout the day
  • You are interested in more theming that you sometimes find with a larger resort

The key is deciding whether you want your hotel to be the destination, or the flexible base that supports everything else you want to do in Orlando.

Booking Tips and Things to Consider Before You Reserve

Before you book your stay at the Sunset Walk Embassy Suites, there are a few things worth considering.

First, check the dates of your trip against the Island H2O operating season. It would be terrible to book your stay, thinking you are going to have fun at a large water park, only to find out the park is closed during your stay. The H2O water park is open from March 7, 2026, through October 31, 2026. If you are visiting outside that window, the value of staying at this Embassy Suites might be less appealing.

Second, compare room types carefully. The Embassy Suites at Sunset Walk offers a variety of room styles and layouts. Make sure you book the configuration that best suits your family size.

Finally, be sure to pay attention to the total cost, not just the nightly rate. When water park access is included, that can offset ticket purchases you would otherwise need to buy separately. For a family of four, those savings can be significant.

Some of Our Final Thoughts on Embassy Suites Orlando Sunset Walk

There are many good reasons to stay at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando Sunset Walk. While it is not a massive on-site water park resort, it is way more than just a basic hotel with a rectangular pool tucked behind the building.

Here is what stands out to us:

  • A large zero-entry resort-style pool
  • A splash zone with interactive features, sprinklers, fountains, and water buckets
  • A small water slide for younger kids
  • Seasonal access to Island H2O Water Park
  • Suite-style rooms with made-to-order breakfast included
  • Walk distance to dining and entertainment at Sunset Walk

If you have a family, or you are traveling as a couple and would like flexibility, space, and fun on the water without committing to a full-scale resort property, this one makes a lot of sense.

If your kids measure a vacation by the number of slides they can ride in a single afternoon, you may want to compare it with larger water park resorts nearby. However, it is worth noting that you have access to a full water park at certain times of year.

But if your trip is built around a mix of theme parks, pool time, and easy evenings within walking distance of restaurants, this property deserves a serious look.

If it fits your family’s vacation style, it can be a very balanced option in the Orlando area.
