Shallow Pools are a Hit with Parents and Kids
While many of the large pools at the Universal Orlando Resorts have a Zero-entry access point, this can still be a little intimidating for toddlers. This is why a water zone, set aside from all of the adult fun is necessary. It might come as a surprise, but none of the kids’ areas have toddler size water slides.
At the Top of the List
When you look from above, the Pool at the Royal Pacific Universal Orlando Resort looks like a section of an Oceanliner. At the helm are your kids playing in the only themed water play area for kids at any of the Universal Orlando Resorts. This puts the Royal Pacific Resort at the top of our list for Best Kids Splash Zone. Your child will have hours of fun jumping, splashing and shooting passers-by with the long-range water canons. As you leave the deck of the ship, your kids will have a shallow section of the main pool accessible by zero-entry and in perfect view of this area is a sandy beach with an abundance of lounge chairs and even a few Cabanas for rent. To the edge of the pool, you will also find an enclosed, shallow children’s pool with plenty of lounge chairs for secluded convenience and care for your little one.

Shallow Kids Pool and Dry Playground
The Loews Portofino Bay Hotel has a huge area at the entrance of the main pool that is shallow with a gentle sloping water entrance that has water fountains for the kids. A more secluded small wading pool is off to the side with lounge chairs for a safer place for the toddlers to play away from the older kids. Beside the kiddie pool is a dry playground. Unique Zero-Entry
Most pools that have a Zero-entry point start from an edge of the pool and work inwards, this is not how the pool at the Sapphire Falls Resort works. This huge Lagoon style pool has a shallow walking path right through the center and gently slopes to deeper waters off each side. Kids line up and play in this area while adults get to stay cooled off around them. Near the Druhm Grill you will also find a small area of pop water jets where little ones can play in the water and keep cool.
