Walk out of the back of the main building after check-in and the first thing you will notice is that you have an option to head in one of two directions. This resort is broken up into a North and South Courtyard area. To the North, you will have access to the Cabana Courtyard Pool with Zero Entry, large Water Slide, and a Sandy Beach. If you are familiar with the most recent editions of the "Disney World Value Resorts like the Art of Animation Resort, you will probably see a few similarities in the design and structure of the Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort. Don't get the wrong idea and think that you will be coming to a Disney resort though. Universal does a great job at creating their own unique resort masterpieces all by themselves. I think the main thing to notice is the fact that this resort is aimed at giving its guests a great experience while keeping the cost down over the other Themed Resorts.
What are the rooms like?
There are two different types or sizes of rooms at the Universal's Orlando Cabana Bay Beach Resort to fit the different price points and families that visit. The least expensive place to stay would be one of the standard rooms with Double Queen Beds of course, but if you need more space to spread out, you can step up to the more spacious Family Suite with additional living space and a small Kitchenette. Pros:
Many of the guests who stay at the Cabana Bay Resort at Universal Orlando are feel that the atmosphere of the resort is great. The kids love the pools and the water slide and lazy river are a great addition, making this one of the best Universal Resorts for having water park features. The guest services are very helpful and the transportation to the parks is continuously running. The food is good with many different options in the food court.
Cons:
Most of the reviews are very good at the Cabana Bay Resort. Still, there are a number of guests who mention that they did not receive good service from the staff and felt they were treated rudely. One thing that seems to be a trend guests state about the Universal Resorts is the fact that parking is not included with your stay and it is an additional fee.

Oh how I love the Universal Water Taxi system
Well, that could be a little bit of a problem. The Water Canal that generally transports guests back and forth to the other Universal Resorts did not get extended to accommodate the guests at the Cabana Bay Resort in Orlando. To get to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, your best bet is to take the Complimentary Shuttle Bus or head out on foot. Although it is a little further away, you are only looking at about 0.7 walking miles to the entrance of Islands of Adventure or 0.8 miles to the arches of Universal Studios. Considering you will be walking many additional miles around the parks and City Walk each day, you will have to determine if this is the best mode of transportation for you.

Dining
The largest dining available on the resort would be the Bayliner Diner where you have many different options laid out in a Food Court setting.
