In effect, as you walk around this entire resort, you can’t help but feel as you have been whisked away in time to the 1950’s in American culture. Standard Room or Family Suite?

There are a couple of factors to take into account when you are trying to determine if you should stay in a regular room or dive into one of the larger Family Suites, size of party and wallet. It is always nice to say that you stayed in a Suite while on your Family vacation, but if you only have 4 in your family, you also need to weigh the additional costs of the step up to a Family Suite. So let’s take a look at the differences and try to determine the best fit for your visit.

Cabana Bay Beach Resort Room Comparison

As you compare the rooms & suites at Universal Orlando’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort, the most significant difference is that you get an additional living space with a Sleeper Sofa and small Kitchenette with Microwave and Mini-Refrigerator with the Family Suite. Still, having almost 30% more area can be very helpful for a long trip so that the family is not on top of each other the whole time. I think it would have been nicer if they would have added a second bathroom in the Family Suites though. I still can get very hectic while 6 guests are getting ready in one bathroom during the morning.

Keeping it on the Quiet Side

If you get a room overlooking the pool, you will not be in the quietest location. You might not have the best views by staying at the backside of the resort but you will probably get a better night of sleep.

Difference in Cost

So, what is the actual difference in cost? Is it worth getting the larger room? A lot of this depends on the situation you are in and how much you are willing to spend on your vacation. If you are planning on spending all of your time outside and only visiting your room to crash at night, the standard room might make more sense. If on the other hand, you will be spending some extra time in your room, the Family Suite at the Cabana Bay Beach Resort is a better option. The cost difference can be anywhere from about 20% – 30% higher for the Family Suite. If you have more than 4 in your group, you might not have any other options available to you.
