Jambo House Villas at Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge
The Disney Animal Kingdom Villas Jambo House were the first Disney Vacation Club (DVC) properties at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Many different room options are available when staying at the Jambo House Villas like a Deluxe Studio, 1 Bedroom Villa, 2 Bedroom Villa or even the largest 3 Bedroom – 4 Bathroom Grand Villa on 2 floors. These rooms give you an incredible amount of space and all except the Deluxe Studio are equipped with a full kitchen to prepare meals in. The Studio offers a much smaller kitchenette which is large enough for simple things but preparing a larger meal would be out of the question.
Where are the Jambo House Villas Located?
As you enter the main lobby of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, after you pick your jaw up from laying on the floor because of the immense size and incredible design, you first notice how tall this building really is with its 6 floors of rooms. There are a total of 4 wings that lead to the rooms, suites, and villas accessible by stairs or elevators starting in each corner of the lobby. Each section is noted by a trail name; the Kudu Trail, Zebra Trail, Ostrich Trail, and the Giraffe Trail. The villas at Jambo House are located in the top 2 floors, giving you the best views available. In the front section of the Animal Kingdom Resort, on the right, you have the Giraffe Trail which overlooks the Uzima Pool. Looking to the left front, you will see that the Ostrich Trail has great views of the Sunset Savanna. The larger sections, that make up the famous horseshoe design of the Animal Kingdom Resort, are located off of the back lobby. To the right back you have the Zebra Trail with options of viewing the Arusha Savanna or the Uzima Savanna, while a few Villas overlook the Uzima Pool. The left-back area is the Kudu Trail offering visitors a view of the Arusha Savanna or the Sunset Savanna.
View of the Animals
Not all of the Villa’s have views of the Savanna, some of them have a standard view of the resort or parking lot area but these views also mean a cheaper price. Before you book, try to determine how much time you might spend in your room. If you are planning to spend a lot of time at the resort and not at the parks, the view will be a very important factor. If, however you are going to be running most of the time or spending most of your time outdoors anyway, saving money with a standard view Villa, might be a better option.
Jambo House or Kidani Village
Since the Jambo House Villas were the first ones to be built at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, they are a little different from the design and layout of the Kidani Village Villas. Take a look at differences to determine if you should stay at the Jambo House or Kidani Village Villas.
Let’s take a look at the layout of the Jambo Villas:
Deluxe Studio
The Deluxe Studio has accommodations for 4 guests with a Queen Bed and a Sleeper Sofa. Included in this main area you also have a table and chairs as well as a flat-screen TV above the large dresser. It is easy to keep small items refrigerated in the kitchenette with a microwave, sink and coffee maker. The bathroom is not huge but it is up to date with granite counters and a tub/shower unit. No matter what your view, you get a small balcony with a couple of chairs to enjoy the outdoors.
1 Bedroom Villa
Adding more space is always better when staying at a 1 Bedroom Villa at the Disney Animal Kingdom Jambo House. The Living area in the 1 Bedroom Villa is spacious and well thought through having a Sleeper Sofa and cabinet with flat-screen TV mounted above. The Standard rooms also include a Sleeper Chair that pulls out into a twin bed to accommodate the 5th guest. The full-size kitchen has all of your normal appliances with granite counters and a toaster with a coffee pot. A small island sits on the other side of the counter giving you some additional preparation space. The Master Bedroom has a King Bed, desk with chair, dresser and another flat-screen TV. The bathrooms are large, all having a whirlpool tub and double granite top sink. The 1 Bedroom Villa comes with a stackable Washer and Dryer. The private balcony stretches across the back of the villa with access from the master bedroom and the living room.
2 Bedroom Villa
All of the 2 Bedroom Villas at Jambo House are a combination of a Studio and 1 Bedroom Villa. The 2 bedroom villas are capable of supporting up to 9 guests. There are also 2 full bathrooms in each of the 2 Bedroom units.
3 Bedroom Grand Villa
If you are looking for the largest Villa around, look no further than the Jambo House 3 Bedroom Grand Villas. There might even be times when you wonder if anyone else is around because of the sheer size of these dwellings. No stairs to climb once you enter the Grand Villa at Jambo House because everything is on one floor. The living space is huge with the main Living Room having an entertainment system with Flat Screen TV, pull out Sleeper Sofa, Chairs and a beautiful African wood crafted coffee table. Behind the Living Room is an Open Dining Room with large table and chairs for plenty of space to eat that delicious meal you have cooking. Talking about preparing meals, the large full-size Kitchen has all of the counter space you will desire while giving you all of the large appliances you are used to having at home. The granite counters give a nice, clean feel to this space.
There are 2 Bedrooms in one wing of the 3 Bedroom Villa, both have 2 Queen Beds and a Flat Screen TV. They also have their own private bath with tub and shower units. All of the bathrooms are tiled with earth tones and painted scenes of a Savanna. With a total of 4 bathrooms, you should not have any problem with space when getting ready each day to tackle your activities.
Located on the other end of the Villa, the second wing has something you would not expect to find in a Disney Vacation Club Villa, a Billiard Room. This room is very large with plenty of space to entertain while racking up the table. The Master Bedroom is located in this wing as well. It comes fully equipped with a King Bed and comfortable chair. It also has a desk and chair, dresser and Flat Screen TV. The Master Bath is really impressive. As you enter, you first realize that the bath area is at least as large as the Master Bedroom. There are 2 sinks but they are separated by a large Whirlpool tub right in the middle of the bath area. A separate room encloses the toilet and you can also enjoy a stand-up shower if you would like. A large walk-in closet is available from the Bathroom giving you plenty of space to store your belongings.
As with all of the other multi-bedroom Villas at Jambo House at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, you have your very own Washer and Dryer to make it easy to keep things clean on your vacation. And we haven’t even mentioned the Balconies yet. From the outside of the building, you even know which units are the Grand Villas by the style of the balcony. The 3 Bedroom Villas have 3 very large balconies with doors from every room leading to them. They are built in a semi-circle and have amazing thatched roofs. You will probably find yourself hanging out here watching the people and animals go by while either dining or just having your morning coffee.
