Visiting the Disney World Resorts at Christmas is a real treat! Staying at any of the Disney Resorts gives you access to Disney Transportation which will take you around to any of the Resorts filled with magnificent displays and arrangements of Christmas.
It would be a huge disservice to your family if you did not take them to all of the Disney World Resorts at Christmas. Once you view the incredible Gingerbread displays at the Deluxe Resorts, you might consider redecorating at home. As with everything Disney does, a fantastic job is done during the Holiday season.
Do all of the Disney Properties have Christmas Displays?
The short answer is Yes, but honestly, some of the Disney Resorts do not do very much while others. Take for example, the Disney Deluxe Resorts, go all out and you wonder how many months did it take for them to even prepare. Disney might be an expensive place to visit but where else can you go see the wonders of Christmas? Disney spares no expense when it comes to presentation and this is expressed more than ever in the Holiday Season.
As you might expect, the more deluxe resorts have the best decorations while the Moderate is pretty impressive as well. Take some time to look at them all to decide which one is a good fit for your budget. Remember, if you are staying on the Disney Property, you can still visit all of the Disney World Resorts at Christmas.
Best Disney Resort Christmas Decorations
Huge Lobby Christmas Tree and Life-size Gingerbread House is a must-see
Christmas displayed in pure elegance, one of the most impressive Disney World Resorts at Christmas would have to be the Grand Floridian. During the day it is impressive enough but if you get a chance to visit after dark, it really shines. The oustide lights up with animals and features you will not see at any other time at the Grand Floridian resort.
Enter the Grand Hall and see many different styles of Christmas Trees. One Christmas Tree overpowers them all, placed right in the middle of the hall. This Christmas tree is so large that you have to climb all the way to the 4th floor to stand see the top. Looking for a unique picture of this massive Christmas tree? Take the elevator to a higher floor and look down, it will be worth it.
You can’t miss the most impressive Holiday Structure in the Hall, the full size, Gingerbread House. Kids might stand in front of this Gingerbread House with their mouths wide open in delight. You will also see Parents looking on in sheer amazement of the size of this structure. While you might not want to eat directly from the house, it is made purely from edible ingredients. Can you imagine how long it must take to make a house like this each year? A refreshment stand is built into the Gingerbread House where they serve gingerbread and other treats.

More Rustic but very cozy down-home country Christmas
Settle in for a rustic, down-home, cozy setting with immediate Christmas charm and warmth at the Disney Wilderness Lodge Resort. One of the largest Christmas Trees in the Disney World Resorts can be found in the center of the lobby. This Christmas tree is so big, there are cables connected near the top to 4 anchor points just to keep it steady. If you want to see the top of this Christmas tree, take the stairs or the elevator up to the 6th floor so you can get a better vantage point. Pay close attention to the ornaments on the Christmas Tree. Each ornament is specialy designed to bring out the rustic feel of the Wilderness Lodge Resort.
Beautiful, Garland is strung along all of the railings of the balconies. This gives an impressive, Christmas look and feel to this main area of the Wilderness Lodge resort. The Wreaths, are amazing as well. Be sure to take in the Christmas spirit while sitting in front of the fireplace in the main lobby.

An African style Christmas
Hand-made ornaments in the shape of animals, natural colors mixed with the colors of the Christmas season and the excitement of the animals all around. The Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge is certainly a special place to visit at any time of the year but walking in the main lobby at Christmas is a wonderful experience. The kids get excited from the first site of the massive Christmas tree in the lobby.
Garland & Christmas wreaths are hung around the banisters and poles to add that Holiday splash of cheer at every turn. The gift shop is a must when visiting the Animal Kingdom Resort at Christmas. The decorations are so amazing and different from all of the other resorts.

Giant Wreaths and over-sized Garland with a functional Gingerbread Carousel
Across the Lake from the Disney Boardwalk Inn, you can view all of the sensational Christmas Decorations at the Disney Beach Club Resort. Giant wreaths and garland hang from the banisters and on the doors in the main lobby. Something you will see at the Beach Club Resort that is not found anywhere else is the fully functional Ginger Bread Chocolate Carousel. Well, it isn’t completely functional. Even though it is large enough for a child to ride, since it is made out of edible materials, it would probably not be a good idea. That does not mean that the kids will not dream of being able to ride on this amazing Christmas treat. If you are taking your time around Disney World to look at all of the Gingerbread displays, be sure to put the Disney Beach Club on your list.

Beautiful Christmas Lights and a small Town complete with a model Train
Beside the Disney Beach Club and across from the Disney Boardwalk Inn, additional Holiday delights await when you take in the Christmas Decorations at the Disney Yacht Club Resort. The Disney Yacht Club Resort is always “Ship Shape” and displays something unique for your family during the Christmas season. Kids and adults alike will look on in awe at the miniature train set on display as you enter the main hall of the building. As the train circles the town covered with snow, you will get an opportunity to look at all of the intricate designs of the town and its many layers. Kids get so excited that they want to play with the train-set but this is a hands-off display and is for viewing only.
Walking around the Entrance notice the many Christmas Trees decorated in a Nautical fashion. This is to keep in the theme of the Yacht Club Resort style. The garland hanging from the railings is lovely with gold, silver, white and blue accents. The colors give the Yacht Club that New England flair and beauty. Outside, the lampposts are covered in garland and decorations and the grounds are full of colorful poinsettias.

Worth touring them all
As you can tell by the descriptions of each of these Disney World Resorts at Christmas, each property stands out in its own special way. If you have the time, it is well worth taking a few hours to hop between all of the resorts. Each Resort is a great place to get pictures of the different Holiday Themes. As you go to each location, try to find some of the additional Hidden Mickeys that you will only see during this time of the year.
There are also refreshments at each of the more elaborate resorts. Enjoy some sweets and hot cocoa with your kids and take in the Disney World Resorts at Christmas.
Disney Moderate Resorts at Christmas
Nothing can compare to the Disney World Deluxe Resorts at Christmas but you will still find a wonderful Christmas Decorations present at the Disney Moderate Resorts. While you will not find any of the large displays of Gingerbread structures, you will find that there are many Christmas Trees with different types of decorations, garland and additional displays for the season at each of these resorts.
Disney Value Resorts at Christmas
Disney does not do a lot at their Value Resorts during the Christmas season other than put up a Tree in the main Hall of each of the properties. You may find some additional decorations around these resorts but they are no anything like the resorts mentioned above.
Christmas at Disney World
You really can’t go wrong at any of the Disney World Resorts at Christmas. Each resort is unique, so pick your style and enjoy the season with your family.The memories will certainly be worth it.
