As you sit down to start planning your vacation for the year, you decide that it might be time to head back to Orlando to see all of the changes since your last visit. You really don’t want to stay at the cheapest Disney properties but you are not willing to spend a fortune either, so you start looking at the Walt Disney World Moderate Resorts. These properties might not offer quite as many options and amenities that you will find at the Disney World Deluxe Resorts but they can come pretty close. If you really want the extras that come with staying at a Disney World Moderate Resorts and you will be spending some extra time at the resort itself, it is probably worth looking at an upgrade.

Moderate Resorts at Disney World – Plenty for the Price
By looking at the comparison charts, you can see how different it is just by stepping up to the next level of comfort when staying at a Disney World Moderate Resorts. Did you notice that not only do you get a Swimming Pool, each one of these Disney World Moderate Resorts add in water fun amenities like a Water Slide and Kiddie Pools? Not that there is anything wrong with staying at one of the Disney World Value Resorts. The Value locations have a lot for people on a tighter budget, but you definitely get a little more by moving up. In addition to what is shown in the comparison chart is the style and theme differences in these Moderate Disney Hotels. The Imagineers really stepped up their game when designing these more elaborate places to stay. You will not see 35 foot plastic characters on any of these sites. Instead, you will see more progressive art work and elaborate themed structures to make each place come to life. This is the start of where you really feel like Disney is taking you on your own personal adventure along the way.
Some of the Disney World Moderate Resorts only offer Bus transportation but the Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter and the Cabins at Fort Wilderness also provide Water Taxi service. The Water Taxi service gives you a different and very perspective of Disney World from the water and because not everyone has access to them, you also feel special when taking a trip on these water passages. In order to have water taxi service, you have to be staying on one of the Disney World Moderate Resorts or Disney World Deluxe Resorts that support this type of transportation. Since there are not any lakes around the Disney World Value Resorts, you certainly will not be able to walk to a dock and grab one there. Still, most people opt for grabbing one of the Buses, I think just to keep feet on solid ground. Whichever one you are interested in, you have the option. It is completely up to you.
Rooms, Suites and Cabins
That is right, in this list of spots, you have one place that you can even enjoy staying in your very own cabin. At the Cabins at Fort Wilderness, you can pitch a tent, park your RV or in this location, rent a cabin that is all yours and sleeps up to 6. Some might think this is roughing it but as comfortable as it is, I would hardly call it that. All of the others will offer standard rooms except for Coronado Springs which also has Suites for some extra space.
Extras at the Disney Moderate Resorts
As you move up and decide to stay at the Disney World Moderate Resorts, you gain a lot of ground with the types of things available to do. If you love outdoor activities and you think that you will have the time, over and above the Theme Parks, Fort Wilderness has to be at the top of the list. All of these places have plenty to do so take a more detailed look and see which one works best for you.
