Some Helpful Tools
No matter where you want to go, as long as it is part of Disney World, the Disney Transportation will get you there. But, what do you do if you are iinterested in going to SeaWorld or the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios? Orlando is full of fun things to do so you might want to explore a little. How does the Disney Shuttle work at the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort?
First of all, it is worth mentioning that staying in one of the Preferred Rooms at the Port Orleans French Quarter will get you closer to the Mint Building where the dining and transportation are located. Staying in buildings 2, 3, 4 or 5 closest to the Mint Building will give you the shortest walk to the Shuttle. All of the Disney Transportation starts to run an hour prior to the opening of the theme parks and goes all day until 2 hours after the parks close.
The water taxi is a fun way to get around but know that it does not go to any of the Disney Theme Parks. It will take you to the Port Orleans Riverside and Disney Springs.
What about transportation to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure?
Want to go see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Well let me tell you, if you do, you will not be let down. Getting there is not as easy though since these parks are in direct competition to the Disney World Theme Parks. Getting your own transportation is the only way to get there. A couple of options would be to schedule a Mears Taxi or setup Uber. The Universal Orlando dropoff is about 12.5 miles away and takes about 25 minutes in normal traffic.
How do I get to SeaWorld and Aquatica?
Disney World has the Animal Kingdom to learn about animals you would see on an African Safari but they don't have any aquatic creatures. For this, you will need to head on up to SeaWorld. If this is something you are interested in, contact Mears Taxi Service or get an Uber.
