If you love to go camping and really rough it, you might want to set your sights on the Disney Fort Wilderness Campground but if you like to think that you are roughing it but really just want to enjoy the outdoors while having the option of having all of the updated amenities, take a look at the Disney Fort Wilderness Cabin Accommodations to see if this type of living will work for you.

Cabin Locations

All of the Cabin are located off of Peacock Pass as you enter the Disney Fort Wilderness on the Left. This scenic drive will take you through all of the streets that lead to the sections that hold all of the Cabins. As far as locations is concerned, if you are looking to stay in one of the properties that is closest to the Wilderness Swimming Pool, you might want to see if you can reserve at Cedar Circle, Moccasin Trail or sections of Heron Hollow. These will get you closest to the more quiet swimming pool in the area but if you are interested in the most pool fun, the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool has a Corkscrew Water Slide, Kiddie Pool and Kiddie Water play area equipped with smaller water slides. This pool location is built into the main campground area on the other side of Fort Wilderness. This is where the Kids will want to spend most of their time so you might look into getting a golf cart for the week or at least rent bikes to get around the area. The Disney Fort Wilderness Resort is 750 acres in size and if you think that walking is your best option, remember that you only have a limited amount of time so each minute that you walk, you are missing out on something fun you could be doing instead.

What are the Cabins Like?

Each of the cabins, although designed to make you feel like you are roughing it, are far from missing the luxuries and amenities you would expect from staying in a Deluxe Disney Resort. All of the 407 Cabins are identical in size and features except for the few that are designed to accommodate guests with disabilities. The Cabins are about 500 square feet in size offering a full size kitchen with normal sized appliances, a living area, bedroom with bunk beds and a double bed as well as a pull down Murphy Bed. There is also a full bathroom with tub and shower to give you the additional option of washing the smaller children in a tub setting. Since most hotel rooms are around 250 – 320 square feet, when you compare the larger size of the cabins, you can see how this could be very nice on your vacation. Although you might be staying in the woods, Disney does a great job of taking care of you the same way they take care of all of their guests. Everything in the Cabin is designed to be sturdy and clean. Each of these cabins will sleep up to 6 people and pulling down the Murphy Bed is not a problem.
