Oh how I love the Universal Water Taxi system
Well, that could be a little bit of a problem. The Water Canal that generally transports guests back and forth to the other Universal Resorts did not get extended to accommodate the guests at the Cabana Bay Resort in Orlando. To get to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, your best bet is to take the Complimentary Shuttle Bus or head out on foot. Although it is a little further away, you are only looking at about 0.7 walking miles to the entrance of Islands of Adventure or 0.8 miles to the arches of Universal Studios. Considering you will be walking many additional miles around the parks and City Walk each day, you will have to determine if this is the best mode of transportation for you.

Pets
Pets are not allowed at the Loews Cabana Bay Resort at Universal Orlando. If you are interested in bringing your pet along and would really like to stay at a Universal Themed Resort, check out the Hard Rock Hotel, Sapphire Falls Resort, Portofino Bay Hotel or the Loews Royal Pacific Resort. All of these resorts allow pets and welcome you and your furry friend to come visit.
Dining
The largest dining available on the resort would be the Bayliner Diner where you have many different options laid out in a Food Court setting. If you are looking for something a little lighter and away from the crowds, there is additional dining in the Bowling Alley as well as both of the pool areas.
