Contemporary Hotel Orlando – Disney’s most Iconic Resort
Filled with wonder, the Disney Contemporary Resort is unique in every way. Did you know, the Contemporary Resort in Disney World is the only Deluxe Resort that has a Monorail Station built into the building? The other Disney Resorts on the Monorail have a station on a platform connecting to the resort but it does not work the same as the Contemporary Resort. As you walk around the shops, dine at Chef Mickey’s or just look at the sights around the Contemporary Resort, you get to watch in awe as the Monorail enters the building to take new guests to their destination. It is truly a wonderful experience your kids will never forget.
Walking to the Magic Kingdom
It is important to note that the Disney Contemporary Resort is the only Deluxe Resort that you can walk out of the front entrance and walk to the front gates of the Magic Kingdom. While the other Disney World Deluxe Resorts are on the Seven Seas Lagoon, right across from the Magic Kingdom, there is no walking path from either the Disney Grand Floridian Resort or the Disney Polynesian Village Resort.
Rooms at the Contemporary
Spacious rooms and suites, the Contemporary Resort offers some of the nicest spaces to stay in all of Disney World. Rooms are sleek with defining lines and keep up with the theme you would expect in the name Contemporary. All of the rooms come with a small refrigerator, and suites even offer kitchens and accommodate up to 8 guests comfortably in the 2-Bedroom Suite. Club level rooms are also available with extra special care given to guests like turndown service each evening. Complimentary WiFi is available throughout all of the rooms and the Contemporary Resort for your convenience. Standard rooms are similar in form to a typical hotel room however, having nearly 400 square feet of space, these rooms feel very large compared to many hotels you might stay in. Not only are the rooms large, where else can you stay that would offer views of the Magic Kingdom from your Balcony? Bathrooms at the Contemporary have 2 sinks and a tub/shower unit is one area and the toilet is in a closed-off space on its own making it easier to have multiple guests getting ready at one time. Most guests love the comfortable beds at the Contemporary Hotel and views are some of the best in Disney World.
Spectacular Views from the Disney Contemporary
Do you dream of sitting on your balcony of the Contemporary Resort and watching the Fireworks with your kids at night? Be sure to upgrade to the Magic Kingdom Views when you book your room if this is a must. Not all rooms have views of the Magic Kingdom Fireworks. Take some time to look at the full information on the Rooms at the Contemporary Hotel.

Disney Contemporary Resort Reviews
Pros:
We loved the amazing views of the Magic Kingdom and the kids watched the fireworks from the balcony on the nights we did not stay late at the parks. It was great fun watching the Monorail enter the building and being able to jump on and take a short ride to the Magic Kingdom felt like an attraction all on its own. We all enjoyed the large pool with a water slide. Smaller kids will have fun at the splash park too. There are so many fun things to do at the Contemporary Resort and dining at Chef Mickey's was a neat experience. Be sure to go up to the California Grill and check out the views around the resort.
Cons:
While most guests love the Monorail running through the Contemporary Resort some guests felt this was a noisy location to stay. Remember, this is a Deluxe Disney Resort and it is expensive everywhere you go. If you are looking for an inexpensive stay, this is not it. The contemporary was a little to bland for our kids but they did enjoy the pool, water slide and splash park.
