Water Fun at the Disney Grand Floridian

  • Kids Splash Park
  • Water Slide
  • Zero-entry
  • Pool Bar
  • Beach

In fashion with the rest of the Resort, the Grand Floridian has two (2) magnificent pools. The Beach pool is fabulous for families since it has zero-entry access, overlooks the Seven Seas Lagoon and also has a 181-foot twisting water slide. Hours of enjoyment is waiting for your kids at the Beach Pool. The second pool is much larger and has zero-entry, various bubbling fountains and a great hot tub. Cabanas are prepared for rent at the Beach Pool and to make things easy, each pool has a bar and grill to take care of lunch and snacks without ever having to leave the water. Alongside the Beach Pool, a Disney Alice in Wonderland splash park has a couple of smaller slides, shallow water, and a huge dumping Mad-Hatters Hat bucket. Taking a stroll, or resting on the beach watching the fun at the Magic Kingdom or taking in all of the watercraft on the Seven Seas Lagoon is also a great way to pass the time.

Disney's Flagship Disney Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in Orlando

Iconic red roof, Monorail station and you can see the Magic Kingdom across the Seven Seas Lagoon. These are just a few reasons why the Disney Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is worth looking at for your next stay in Disney World. A stay at the Grand Floridian is like no other but be aware that you are staying at the most expensive Deluxe Resort Disney World has to offer. The Disney Floridian is very Elegant with Victorian style through and through. It makes you feel as if you have stepped back in time to a more simple sophistication of the early 1900's. In the lobby, you will often see a pianist at the Grand Piano playing tunes and on the second floor, above the lobby a band plays. Truly an experience you will not find at any of the other Disney Resorts.

The Finest in a Deluxe Disney Stay

If Prestige and Elegance is the desired goal in booking your next stay in Disney World then you have certainly made the right choice. All of the 867 room and 25 suites have the class and grace you would expect from the Disney Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Flagship resort. The Grand Floridian Resort is made up of six (6) main buildings with various views of the courtyards, pools and even the best views of the Magic Kingdom. Imagine being able to watch the fireworks from your Grand Floridian Room Window. Expect more, even when staying in one of the standard rooms with 428 square feet, you never feel cramped and the bathrooms are very large with a full-size closet. Upgrading to a one (1) or two (2) bedroom suite gives you even more space to spread out and sleep up to 8 guests comfortably. The view might be the most difficult option to choose with scenery including the Seven Seas Lagoon, Pool, Courtyard and some of the best views of the Fireworks at the Magic Kingdom.

Disney Grand Floridian Reviews

 PROS

Pros:

If you are looking for the most luxurious stay, the Grand Floridian has to top the list of Disney World Resorts. Staff was fantastic and very helpful at every location. We stayed in one of the standard rooms and it was very spacious compared to a regular hotel room. We were a little concerned that the experience might not give our kids the Disney flavor we were looking for but they absolutely loved it. From the Character breakfast to the pools with water slide and kids park, this is a great resort for all ages. One of the most fun things was being on the Monorail with access to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot.

 CONS

Cons:

Yes, the Disney Grand Floridian is nice but be prepared to open your wallet and leave it open. The Resort itself is expensive enough but add in the restaurant prices, bar expense at the pools and, oh yes, the nightly parking and you will have spent a good amount on this vacation. Our room seemed to need some updating and we were a little surprised that the carpets were run down a bit. For this price, there should not be a problem keeping everything in perfect running order.
