Transportation at the Riviera Disney Vacation Club Resort
Take to the skies with the Disney Skyliner Transportation at the Disney Riviera Resort and have the ability to zoom over to Hollywood Studios or Epcot. The Disney Skyliner is a fun and fast way to get around to some of the Disney Parks but if you need to get to the Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom from the Disney Riviera Resort, you will have to hop on the faithful, Disney Bus Transportation. All of your transportation options are listed below in greater detail:
Fun outside of Disney World?
Disney World is a blast, that is for sure but there is so much to see in Orlando outside of the Mickey Belt. Have you discovered Universal Orlando with the amazing display of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter? If you are a Harry Potter fan, this is a must-see but even if you don’t know anything about Hogwarts, or Professor Dumbledore, you will be in amazement as you walk through the world that Universal has built around this fantastic story. Other options to consider is SeaWorld and if you are interested in Water Parks, the Aquatica water park is located next to SeaWorld and is a very fun addition to your trip. Since you will be stepping outside of the Disney hub, Disney will not be providing your transportation to these other areas. Here are a couple of options to get to other destinations in Orlando:

What Disney Transportation options are available for the Disney Riviera Resort?
Skyliner
Everyone loves taking the Disney Skyliner to the Disney Parks and the Disney Riviera Resort has a station right in its backyard. As you walk past the Beau Soleil Quiet Pool, continue along with the beautiful Courtyards, you will walk through the opening in the West Wing Tower, with incredible water fountains. Be sure to take a few minutes to look at the tiled murals on the walls as you walk through. Just on the other side, the opening for the Disney Skyliner awaits. Take a left to connect to Epcot and continue straight to get to the Disney Caribbean Beach Resort and catch a connecting Skyliner to Disney Hollywood Studios.
Shuttle Buses
Disney buses pick up at the front of the Disney Riviera Resort on a tight schedule. Buses will take you to all of the parks including the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom. Be sure to check out Disney Springs on your trip and the Disney Water Parks add a lot of fun as well.
Walking
Walking along the edge of the Barefoot Bay Lake gives you a unique perspective of the elegance surrounding the Disney Riviera Resort. A 1.4-mile jogging track is a great way to get some exercise. Take a stroll past the long, white sandy beach area and step into a new land at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. Take in the island colors, sounds, and enjoy the flowers as you walk to the entrance and dine at one of the amazing restaurants. You are not able to walk to any of the Disney Parks from the Disney Riviera Resort.
Transportation to Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure from Disney Riviera Resort?
Take a day or two and drop into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando and Islands of Adventure. The scene is set at Hogsmeade and Hogwarts to give you a truly immersive feeling of being in the movie set. Listen to the choir with frogs singing a chorus as you walk through the shops and be sure to get some delicious Butter Beer. Universal Orlando is about 11.7 miles North East of Disney World and will take 15 - 20 minutes driving in normal traffic on I-4 East. Of course, you will have to have your own transportation to get there. You can schedule a Mears Taxi or setup Uber as another option.
How far away is SeaWorld and Aquatica from Disney's Riviera Resort?
SeaWorld is a great adventure for anyone who likes the creatures from the Ocean like; killer whales, dolphins and sea lions. Not only does SeaWorld have great aquatic fun but some of the rides are unmatched anywhere in Orlando. Take a quick ride up I-4 East and you can be at the front gates in about 10 - 15 minutes. Disney does not provide transportation to SeaWorld or Aquatica but you can call for a Mears Taxi or get an Uber can also get you where you need to go.
How far away is MCO Airport from the Disney Riviera Resort?
The Orlando International Airport (MCO) is about 19.6 miles away from the Disney Riviera Resort and it will take you 25 minutes or so depending on the traffic. Did you know that the Disney Magical Express is Free for guests staying at any of the Disney World Resorts? Give a cast member a call at 407.939.1936 or in the UK call 0800.16.90.730 and they schedule the Disney Magical Express to get you and your family on your arrival date at the MCO airport and drop you off in front of the Disney Riviera Resort.
