Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
Unlike the sister resort Disney Port Orleans French Quarter, the Disney Port Orleans Resort Riverside offers guests the option of staying in stately mansions or backwoods cottages. The Resort shows its southern charm from the entrance with elegant, tall ceilings and unique flapper fans to the courtyards and riverside views. The entire Riverside Port Orleans Resort is built around the Sassagoula River, and everywhere you walk you get the sense of being near the water. The Riverside Port Orleans Resort is known as being one of the quietest Disney Resorts, and you will notice how silent it can be as you walk around the rural side of the Resort.
Rooms at the Port Orleans Riverside
What gets guests so excited about staying at the Port Orleans Riverside, apart from the beauty, water park, and quiet feel, are the Themed Rooms. While you might not be able to sleep in Cinderella’s Castle, you can certainly feel like a true princess when Booking a Royal Guest Room. The Royal Guest Rooms make for a special stay for any princess with Royal Blue and Gold throughout; you will be like Belle in Beauty and the Beast. But, there are more rooms to choose from if the princess scene is not what you are looking for. Some of the Riverside Port Orleans rooms even have a pull-down bed to sleep up to five (5) guests. There are over 2000 rooms available separated in two themed areas, the Magnolia Bend with its stately mansions and impeccable courtyards or the Alligator Bayou, a more rustic lodge setting. Stroll down the shaded path to any of the six pools located around the Port Orleans Riverside Resort.

Port Orleans Riverside Reviews
Pros:
What a peaceful and relaxing stay at the Disney Port Orleans Riverside. The buildings are amazing and the courtyards are fantastic. The kids loved the Ol' Man Island Pool with the Water Slide, They didn't want to leave. It was almost like a ride each time we got on the water taxi to go to Disney Springs. We decided to try the horse-drawn carriage ride and that was a wonderful experience riding along the Sassagoula River. If you have a young daughter, it is worth splurging to get a Royal Room. They will truly feel like a princess.
Cons:
It is true that the stately mansion building are pretty amazing but the rooms are just a standard Hotel room. It is a very long walk to get to dining and Disney transportation unless you stay in a preferred room. There are also some frustrations about the time it takes to wait for the next ferry boat. The buses were very crowded most of the time but they did get us around Disney without a problem.
