Shuttle Service at the Grand Floridian Resort
Transportation at the Disney Grand Floridian Resort encompasses every mode of service available at Disney World including the most iconic, the Grand Floridian is also one of the Disney Resorts on the Monorail line. Situated directly on the Seven Seas Lagoon, a boat launch can be found at the Marina to give you Water Taxi service to the Magic Kingdom and if you are heading to any of the other Disney Parks like; Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom, you can hop on a Shuttle Bus, located at the front of the Disney Grand Floridian. The Buses can also take you to the two (2) water parks and Disney Springs.

Anyway, there are a lot of things to do in Orlando and the surrounding area so you might consider going to Universal Orlando to see The Wizarding World of Harry Potter or taking the family to a day at SeaWorld. If these trips are on your mind, be sure to look at the transportation to get there because Disney transportation will not get you there. Here are a couple of options that might work well for you to get around to other places in Orlando.

What Disney Transporation Options do I have at the Grand Floridian Resort?
Monorail
There are so many great reasons for staying at the Disney Grand Floridian Resort; the Things to Do are amazing, and your kids are going to love the Pools are fantastic with a Water Slide and Kids Splash Park. But, the fun doesn't stop there. Normally, when you think about transportation from a hotel, it is not exciting, but that is not true at the Disney Grand Floridian. The Grand Floridian is one of the Disney World Deluxe Resorts located on the Monorail and many guests feel that this is one of the best reasons for staying at one of the Disney Hotels on the Monorail system. Imagine stepping on to the Monorail from your front door to be whisked away to your favorite destination. Trust me, your kids will think this is one of the rides at Disney World and it just builds the excitement.
Water Taxi
Another fun option of getting around when staying at the Disney Grand Floridian is the Water Taxi. Located at the Marina on the Seven Seas Lagoon, this is another wonderful way to get to the Magic Kingdom.
Shuttle Buses
The Monorail can only take you as far as the Magic Kingdom or Epcot, and the Water Taxi can get you to the Magic Kingdom, but if you want to go anywhere else in Disney World, you will want to use the incredible Shuttle Bus as your mode of Transportation. While it might not seem as glamorous as the Monorail, the buses are efficient and fun to get you around to places like; Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon and even Disney Springs.
How do I get Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure from Disney's Grand Floridian Resort?
Take an adventure outside of Disney World and see the Harry Potter World at Universal Studios. It is truly as amazing as all of the hype. There are also many other fun things going on with some of the best rides in Orlando. You will need to schedule your transportation to get to Universal Studios and Islands of adventure, but it will be a great time. Even if you do not have your vehicle, you can schedule a Mears Taxi or setup Uber. The Universal Orlando dropoff is about 16.9 miles away and takes about 25 minutes in regular traffic.
How far away is SeaWorld and Aquatica from Disney's Grand Floridian Resort?
Getting to SeaWorld is not included in your Disney transportation so you will need to get your own by driving your vehicle or you can schedule a Mears Taxi Service or get an Uber. SeaWorld is about 13 miles away and takes about 20 minutes to get to from the Grand Floridian Resort.
How far away is MCO Airport? Is there a free shuttle from the Airport?
The Orlando International Airport (MCO) is 25 miles away from the Disney Grand Floridian. Did you know that Disney will pick you up from the airport and take you directly to the front of the Grand Floridian Resort? All you have to do is make the call to 407.939.1936 or in the UK call 0800.16.90.730 and get your Magical Express ready for your pickup. Tell the reservationist when you will arrive and depart on your flight, and they will take care of the rest.
