Disney World Resorts near Disney Springs
Staying at a Disney Resort when visiting Disney World in Orlando most definitely has its benefits. So, which Disney Resorts are near Disney Springs? Looking at the Map of Disney Springs you will notice that the Saratoga Springs Resort is the closest.
Disney’s Saratoga Springs is so close that you can walk across the bridge across from the main lobby and walk right in to Disney Springs West Side (about 0.42 miles). If you are staying on the eastern side of the resort in The Paddock or Congress Park, just walk across the bridge on the Buena Vista Drive side and walk right in to the main entrance of Disney Springs (about 800 feet from the edge of Saratoga Springs). If you don’t want to walk, hop on the water taxi at the Boat Launch area and take a leisurely ride across.
Disney’s Saratoga Springs is not the only Deluxe Resort close enough to Disney Springs to walk though, Old Key West Resort is a little further away but is within walking distance and also has water taxi service.
Disney’s Old Key West Resort is just under one (1) mile from the eastern most point of the resort but if you are staying up near the lobby and guest services, the walk gets much longer and is over 1.5 miles in length. At this point, you might consider taking the Boat over to the Disney Springs area.
There are also a couple of Moderate Disney World Resorts to consider. The Port Orleans French Quarter and the Port Orleans Riverside Resort are located right beside the Old Key West Resort. You are not able to walk from the Port Orleans Resorts to Disney Springs but they do offer a Water Taxi to ferry you back and forth. It takes about 20 – 30 minutes for the ride but it is quite beautiful along the way.
Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter is just across Disney Vacation Way from Saratoga Springs resort but Disney did not create a walking path to connect to two resorts. This makes it unsafe and not recommended to even try to walk to Disney Springs from the French Quarter resort. The Water Taxi is fun and is about a 1.25 mile ride along the Sassagoula River to get to Disney Springs. Since the Water Taxi is used to also ferry guests from the Riverside resort, this trip can take a little extra time depending on when you get on. Kids will love the Serpent shaped water slide and kids splash park.
Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside is the furthermost Disney Resort with water taxi access to Disney Springs. The boat dock is about 1.75 miles from the dock in Disney Springs. The French Quarter and Riverside resorts share the same Water Taxi service but it is a very efficient mode of transportation to get you from place to place. There is no way to walk from the Port Orleans Riverside resort to Disney Springs. The Port Orleans Riverside Resort has a large water slide and great family pool.
