Disney World Resorts within Walking Distance to Disney Springs
Did you even know there were Disney World Resorts close enough to walk to Disney Springs? There are only a couple but they are both Disney Deluxe Resorts. The closest Disney Resort is Saratoga Springs Resort. You can actually see this property from the water side of Disney Springs and it is really neat to look across the lake and see it all lit up at night. The other is the Old Key West Resort, a little further away but still within walking distance.
If you stay at the Saratoga Springs Resort, you have the best vantage point of what goes on at Disney Springs since it is visible across the lake. Watch as the boardwalk at the Disney Downtown area comes to life at night. Take a walk from the West side of Saratoga Springs taking about 0.4 miles to get around to the Cirque du Soleil arena or on the Eastern side only about 800 feet to the Disney Springs main entrance. Enjoy large 1 or 2 Bedroom Villas or a unique stay in one of the Disney Saratoga Springs Treehouse Villas with a full kitchen. Kids will have a blast in the 2 Family pools each having a long waterslide. An additional 3 more quiet pools are located around the property. Water Taxi transportation is also available to take you back and forth to Disney Springs.
Follow the winding path along the golf course and you will get to the Disney Old Key West Resort. The walk to Disney Springs from Old Key West is only about a mile from the lower east side but is closer to a full 1.5 miles at the main house. A water taxi is provided to get you back and forth and will save you a lot of steps along the way. For the kids, the sandcastle water slide offers hours of fun and a kiddie pool allows for some gentle soaking while staying safe.
Believe it or not, there are no other Disney Resorts that have a walking path to Disney Springs. Looking at the Map of Disney Springs you sure would think that other Disney Resorts offer a walking path but that is not the case. A couple of extra resorts to mention, because they offer a water taxi to Disney Springs would be the Port Orleans French Quarter and the Port Orleans Riverside.
Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels
If you don’t mind, or would even prefer to stay at a hotel not owned by Disney, your options open up quite a bit for Hotels in Orlando that you can walk to Disney Springs. In fact, you will probably want to consider looking at some or all of the Official Disney World Partner Hotels. ALL of the Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels are within walking distance of Disney Springs and also have amazing benefits like complimentary Shuttle to all of the Disney Parks and Water Parks and pickup every 30 minutes. Tough to beat that don’t you think? It is a pretty close toss up on the first three as the Hilton Orlando Resort Lake Buena Vista, the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace (Island Suites) and the Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista are all hovering around the 1,000 foot mark (as you can see below).
The Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort is only about 1,000 feet from the entrance to Disney Springs and getting across traffic on East Buena Vista Drive has been simplified since Disney added a foot bridge to get everyone across the street. This used to be a real safety concern for guests because the traffic gets very congested so the bridge was a great addition.
A stay at the Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista gives you some of the most spectacular views at night of Disney Springs. The walk from the front of the Wyndham is about 1,100 feet and getting to Disney Springs is so easy as you get to walk across the foot bridge and over the traffic below. The Wyndham Buena Vista has a large pool with zero-entry access and a small kids splash area. Be sure to ask for a room on the upper floors facing the parks to get views of the fireworks at night.
One great reason to stay at the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace is the beautiful lazy river with gentle sloping access. The entire family will float around in comfort. On The Tower side of the Resort is a quiet, Adult only pool to get away from noise and enjoy some down time without kids splashing about. The Hilton Palace is broken up in to 2 main living areas, The Tower, which is about 2,000 feet from the Disney Springs Entrance and the Island Suites giving you a short 1,000 foot walk.
While the Holiday Inn Disney Springs might not have some of the large amenities as the other Resorts it is within walking distance of Disney Springs. The Holiday Inn Disney Springs also has a large pool with Zero-entry access point as well as a lap pool to get your morning workout in. The walk from this Holiday Inn is about 0.4 miles to the entrance of Disney Springs. You will take the foot bridge to get across the busy intersection.
Important Note: When you stay at one of the Hotels in the Disney Springs Resort Area, more amenities are provided than just your standard hotels in the area. On top of being in a prime location, you also get free transportation to all of the Disney Parks, including the water parks.
Want to stay somewhere unique, stylish and like no other hotel in the area? The B Resort & Spa is very unique with clean edges, modern feel and a splash of color to really stand out. The pool is a little basic with zero-entry but not much else. You will not find a water slide or lazy river at this hotel. The walk to Disney Springs is about 0.55 miles.
The Best Western Lake Buena Vista is not a water park hotel at all but it does have a pool and it is a member of the Official Disney World Partner hotels. The Best Western Lake Buena Vista is 0.58 miles from Disney Springs by foot. Remember, you can also take the Shuttle to Disney Springs from the Lake Buena Vista Best Western if you are tired from all of your daily walking.
Guests love the DoubleTree Suites Lake Buena Vista for a number of reasons. It might not have a water slide or lazy river but the service is said to be some of the best around. This is also the only “all-suite” hotel in the Disney Springs Area hotels. The walk is a little further but still not bad at only 0.7 miles.
Taking a leisurely stroll from your Hotel to Disney Springs is a great experience and being close enough to not have to wait on transportation can even be better.
